The following are Court Divisions set forth in the Local Rules for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court
Florida Circuit Civil Courts have jurisdiction in all civil actions exceeding $50,000.
Florida County Courts have jurisdiction in civil actions which do not exceed $50,000, small claims (i.e., civil actions under $8,000) and most landlord / tenant actions. Most county court appeals are heard at the appellate court.

Florida Circuit Criminal Courts have jurisdiction in all criminal felonies and also hear appeals from the County Courts.
Florida County Courts have jurisdiction over criminal traffic cases and misdemeanor criminal cases.
The Family Division of the Circuit Court hears civil cases involving dissolution of marriage, name changes and injunctions for domestic and repeat violence.
The Family Division also hears all matters relating to juveniles who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, surrendered for the purpose of adoption, or who are persistent runaways, habitually truant or ungovernable.
The Probate Division of the Circuit Court has jurisdiction of proceedings relating to the settlement of the estates of decedents and minors, the granting of wills, guardianship, involuntary hospitalization, and the determination of competency. The Probate Division also has jurisdiction over proceedings relating to the Jimmy Ryce Act (sexual predator) and hears all jury trials and hearings regarding these matters.
The Problem-Solving Court and Criminal Administrative Division P combines all treatment courts into one super-division, providing uniform procedures and oversight between all treatment courts as they relate to criminal matters.
