Judicial Service

Began service on the County Court Bench in May 2023

Background & Education

Judge Felix currently serves as a Sarasota County Judge. He presides over county criminal and civil divisions.

Judge Felix was born and raised in Sarasota County. He attended Venice High School where he lettered in two sports. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and law degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Before taking the bench, Judge Felix was a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit for over 10 years. He was specifically assigned to prosecute all crimes committed upon children in Sarasota County. In 2019, he was named Child Advocate of the Year.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: The Code of Judicial Conduct governing behavior by judges forbids the Judges of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit to discuss pending cases with the public. The Court is only allowed to consider arguments made in the courtroom and in documents properly filed by actual parties in the case as authorized by law and the Rules of Court. The Court cannot ethically read or consider any other opinions or arguments about the case. Communications that do not meet these legal requirements cannot be forwarded to the Judges.
